BERLIN MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS 2024

The Berlin Music Video Awards (BMVA) proudly presents its 12th edition, announcing the full list of nominees across 14 categories. The festival is set to take place from June 12th to the 14th, 2024, at the esteemed Club Gretchen in the heart of Berlin. As an international celebration of creativity and talent in music video production, the BMVA attracts a diverse array of established and emerging artists from around the world. With most of the nominated works already confirming their presence, this Awards show offers a unique networking opportunity.

Founder Aviel Silook reaffirms the BMVA’s commitment to maintaining its international, independent, and boundary-pushing character. Embracing diversity and promoting an inclusive atmosphere are core principles of the festival, reflected in its wide-ranging selection of videos spanning various music genres, languages, and themes.

This year’s nominee lineup features a mix of well-known artists such as Daft Punk, Bad Bunny, Davido, Lil Yachty and Halsey, however, it is not to worry that a range of emerging talent will be equally represented, creating interesting competition and surprising outcomes. The BMVA has a proud history of spotlighting promising artists before they achieve mainstream success. Notable examples include The Blaze and Little Big, who debuted at the awards before gaining widespread recognition.

This year the BMVA showcases international acts through live performances, such as Panterah (nominated in the Best Low Budget category) and Malina Scar (nominated in the Most Bizarre), alongside a steady DJ line-up throughout all days, with international DJs like Lawya and Dalton John (nominated in the Best Narrative) and of course an enticing local selection showcasing CatMint, Dokia, HelloTrip and many more. Further performer announcements on the way!

Beyond the Awards and live performances, attendees can look forward to a range of activities, including an AI Conference exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on music videos. Led by industry expert Yonatan Dor, the conference will be a highlight of the Experimental Culture Day, dedicated to independent artists and abstract art. The festival strives to continuously grow in its networking values, so expect more lively networking activities, but also festivities and perks like the after party at the famous KitKat Club.

This year’s jury panel is made up of over 30 industry professionals, including director Christian Pasquariello, Swedish fashion designer Lena Quist, Italian photographer Nicola D’Orta, and esteemed editor Rob Myers. Notable newcomer Robert Royal, an award-winning gay porn actor and visual artist, adds a unique perspective to the panel.

Not to forget! All guests are compelled to stick to our provided dress codes. On the 13th of June, guests are encouraged to dress up in a freaky, kinky, bizarre aesthetic. For the final day featuring the awards ceremony, guests are encouraged to embody a red-carpet-style elegance. Dressing the part is key to leaving a lasting impression, especially recommended to networkers out there!
