WASTED YOUTH CLUB BUILDS AN INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE WITH A NEW ALBUM & THEIR OWN RELEASE FESTIVAL

Wasted Youth Club is releasing their second album „Frantic Living“ on October 16. The four-piece band from Arnhem (The Netherlands) creates what they describe as „Psy-Punk ’n‘ Roll“ music: a blend of garage, punk, and psychedelic rock. Their work is anchored by connection, positive energy, and a shared live experience born of a love for loud music.

While they looked outward at the world on their EP Shared Whining (released April 3, 2026), „Frantic Living“ focuses on the individual. The songs explore how people cope with pressure, distractions, mental health, and an increasingly fast-paced digital world. The band poses the question:

How much of life do we want to experience consciously before it passes us by?

With this new album, Wasted Youth Club aims to build upon the foundation they have established over the past few years. Not only has their musical identity become more defined, but they have also steadily built an international audience. Through extensive touring in countries such as Germany, Belgium, Denmark, South Africa, and France, the band has become a fixture in parts of the European alternative music scene. It is no surprise that they recently joined forces with the booking agency Goomah Music (NL).

This Autumn, that development took an exciting turn: last September, the band toured South Africa alongside the band The Tazers. It’s a country with a vibrant independent scene where bands actively connect with one another. For Wasted Youth Club, this exchange represents more than just a tour; it is a confirmation that alternative Dutch guitar music can find an audience beyond Europe, and that wonderful things can emerge from a shared passion.

On October 17, Wasted Youth Club will celebrate the release of their album in the main hall of Willemeen in Arnhem with „WYC presents: Frantic Living Release Festival„. This is not your usual release show, but a mini-festival featuring performances by Wasted Youth Club (of course), Death Sells, and Eyesores; an art exhibition by Ruben Smit; legendary DJ sets from Bongloard and Cloudsurfers; and the chance to enjoy a fresh Wasted Youth Club grilled cheese sandwich (guaranteed to leave you hungry for more!). Expect an evening where the audience doesn’t just spectate, but becomes part of the experience.

For Wasted Youth Club, it ultimately comes down to more than just the band itself. Through touring (next year they’re playing in New York!), collaborating with other artists, and giving back love to the scene, they aim to show that growth stems not only from individual success but, above all, from connecting people and working together to build a close-knit community.
