There are not many festivals in the world where you can ride a camel in the desert by day and dance beneath the stars by night, soundtracked by the biggest stars of the electronic music scene. Founded in 2015, Oasis has put North Africa firmly on the map as the must-visit festival destination of the moment. Nestled on the outskirts of the bustling city of Marrakech, the festival continues to showcase the finest international talent, as well as shining the spotlight on the flourishing Moroccan electronic music scene.
The complete line-up and day-by-day schedule are revealed today. This year, for the first time, the festival adds an extra day with an official Opening Party on Thursday 14th September, where Solomun will make his first ever appearance in Morocco! Ibiza’s leading man will be joined by Morocco’s underground ambassador Amine K, Diynamic mainstay Karmon, and Kenny Glasgow B2B My Favorite Robot.
Day 1 of Oasis festival on Friday 15th September brings headline shows from two of techno’s biggest players, pioneering electronic artist and technological innovator Richie Hawtin and Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann. Hardware maestros KiNK, Karenn and Harvey Sutherland will all perform live, plus there’s back-to-back sessions from the newly-announced Joy Orbison B2B Kornél Kovács and Dolan Bergin B2B Move D. Completing the line-up for Day 1 are Willow, Young Marco , Mike Servito, Jaza, HAAi and Thris Tian.
As revealed today, German electronic duo Modeselektor will make their Oasis debut with a DJ set, co-headlining Saturday 16th September alongside Ellum label founder and Ibiza favourite Maceo Plex. The same day brings techno flavours from Berlin, Brussels, London and Detroit with Shed, Dr. Rubinstein, Charlotte de Witte, Daniel Avery, Call Super and DJ Stingray. Dial regular Pantha du Prince and analog protagonists Agents Of Time will both perform live, plus there’s music from Alex Niggemann b2b Amine K, Chloé B2B Ivan Smagghe, Driss Skali, Fassi and Matt Medved.
On Sunday 17th September, Chilean-American musician Nicolas Jaar will bring his captivating live show to Oasis, plus Glasgow and Stockholm’s finest unite as Jackmaster and Axel Boman join forces for a back-to-back special. Henrik Schwarz & Jesse Rose present their emotive collaborative project Black Rose, Italian multi-instrumentalist Giorgia Angiuli will perform live, plus there’s music from the Moroccan dance scene’s founding father Unes, Detroit selector Marcellus Pittman, rising star Tijana T, eclectic selector Auntie Flo and My Love Is Underground founder Jeremy Underground. Finally, topping off an impressive weekend of music are Anja Schneider, Artunique, Mar1, Matthias Meyer B2B Patlac, Patrice Bäumel and Polyswitch.
Located in between the Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean, Oasis Festival can guarantee a gorgeous climate with days lounging by the pool and evenings under the stars. New for 2017 is The Secret Garden, a Wellness lounge complete with open-air yoga and meditation sessions, massage, shaded relaxation areas and a champagne bar. This year, Oasis has also partnered with L-Acoustics —who have provided sound for the Olympics, the FIFA World Cup, and The Hollywood Bowl—to provide the most immersive, crystal-clear listening experience possible, from every point on the dance floor.
