  • Sónar Kids, Sónar’s family-focused programme celebrating music and creativity, returns on Saturday 20 June at Parc del Fòrum, with activities designed to spark and nurture the creativity of younger audiences. Setting the stage(s)

With uninterrupted music from 5pm to 3am on Thursday 18th June, and from 5pm to 7am on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th June, Sónar 2026 sees significant upgrades to its iconic stages, along with a  refined curatorial approach allowing the programme to breathe like never before. From the best of the dance music underground at SonarLab, experimental sounds of yesterday and tomorrow at SonarHall, global bass and latin mutations at SonarPark or the biggest names in popular electronic music at SonarVillage by Estrella Damm and SonarClub, this year’s lineup places the past, present and future of dance music all in one venue.

Sónar has been completely reimagined, from its stages and technical infrastructure to the lighting design and the resources deployed across the entire site. The festival’s long-standing technical team, responsible for producing Sónar at Fira Gran Via, has been working for months alongside cultural architects TWOFIFTYK, a global agency that has transformed the landscape of live entertainment. Together, they are reshaping the festival’s spaces and stages from the ground up, renewing Sónar in full while staying true to its essence and upholding the brand’s highest quality standards.

With its 33rd edition, Sónar sets out to once again place Barcelona at the heart of global creativity – across music, technology and digital art. The most ambitious, diverse and forward-thinking Sónar to date, yet more faithful than ever to its transformative DNA, now reveals its curatorial vision, brought to life across six fully reimagined stages.

SonarVillage by Estrella Damm: Together under the sun

Combining the best of Sónar’s two biggest open-air stages, SonarVillage by Estrella Damm and the former SonarPub, the brand-new SonarVillage by Estrella Damm will be at the heart of the festival, the only stage open from start to finish on all three days.

The programming is both accessible and expansive, as exemplified by the live acts added today. Now unmasked, SBTRKT, one of the defining artists from the UK post-dubstep generation, returns to the stage to debut bold new material from his forthcoming album. Gospel meets ‘70s cosmic funk when Rush Hour-signed band Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers take to the stage, and local icon Undo has prepared a new full-band show, with musical input from Barcelona creative studio Playmodes.

They join a diverse list of live performers that already included boundary-pushing r&b artist and New York original Kelis and brand-new sets from Sónar favourites Modeselektor and WhoMadeWho

In terms of DJs, there’s an embarrassment of riches. Club Heart Broken founder MALUGI will swap eurotrance and speed garage cuts with Benwal, for one of the most unashamedly fun sets of the weekend. nimino plays a bright, radio-friendly mix of UK garage and pop house, while Carlita prefers melodic house with a lysergic tint, and Cormac offers hi-NRG, multi-coloured nu-disco thrills. Those in search of more classic house music should look no further than Queens’ very own Kilopatrah Jones, rising Berlin icon LOVEFOXY, or a special session from Madrid queer institution CARBS, featuring residents Ketiov and Fernanda Arrau.

Arthi’s vibrant, cross-cultural mix of genres and styles could only come from London, just like  high-energy sets from Lady Shaka b2b Tash LC, Ghanian-British afrobeats duo Mina & Bryte, and local DJ Loli Zazou. Plus there’s smooth, elegant afrohouse from Brazilian DJ MAZ and Barcelona’s own Afri K.

That’s on top of already announced big hitters including Sammy Virji, Chris Stussy and KETTAMA, a transatlantic, intergenerational back-to-back between Detroit legend MK (Mark Kinchen) and rising British artist TSHA, Balearic selector Collen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, and German dance music odd-couple Gerd Janson b2b Marcel Dettmann.

SonarClub: The biggest dancefloor in the world

In 2026, SonarClub reaffirms its status as the biggest dancefloor in the world, with a lineup of huge acts and DJs designed to maximise an upgraded sound system and lighting rig and improved visual production.

Headlining today’s additions is the long‑awaited Sónar debut of legendary British rave crew The Prodigy, who finally bring their explosive live show to Spain’s biggest dancefloor. They’re joined by Dom Dolla and Sara Landry, two of the most in-demand DJs in contemporary club music, who’ve each prepared AV shows to accompany their high-impact, big room-ready sets.

That’s all in addition to previously announced headliner Skepta and massive AV shows from Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens.

Also added today are three DJs who represent different shades of modern techno: Greek hardgroove revivalists ANNĒ & Sera J and versatile Ukrainian artist Daria Kolosova. In recognition of The Prodigy’s influence on the Andalusian breakbeat scene, Sevillan producers R.I.P. Bestia and Ático Corp will perform together as UFC (Un Futuro Creíble) Live, while Manchester-based Basque selector Zuri explores more modern, bass-driven sounds.

Rounding out the lineup are four already- announced DJs: floor-filling specialists DJ Gigola and Funk Tribu, and expert selectors Ogazón and Joy Orbison.

SonarCar: Speedy J presents STOOR Live

SonarCar goes back to its roots in 2026, with a three-day takeover of the stage by STOOR Live. Starting as a pandemic-era studio project led by Dutch techno icon Speedy J, STOOR has now evolved into one of electronic music’s most impressive and unique live concepts. For each session, Speedy J is joined by four other artists, for a fully improvised, extended, hardware-driven live session. This year’s takeover of SonarCar is the most ambitious iteration of the project yet, and the first time STOOR has taken over an entire festival stage for three days.

This is both a return to, and an evolution of, the ‘classic’ SonarCar all-night long DJ sessions. This time round the performances are 100% live, presented in a 360º ‘in-the-round’ format with artists at the centre of the space, surrounded by the audience. Speedy J will be joined by four different performers for each session, which are completely unscripted and unrehearsed: each night will be an unrepeatable, unique experience. Amplifying the impact, each performance will be accompanied by live visuals projected onto a specially-designed central structure, part of a full redesign of SonarCar this year.

The full lineup of collaborating artists for each night will be announced very shortly, with confirmation of visual artists and more details on the stage setup to follow.

SonarHall: from concert venue to club and back again

Our flagship indoor stage SonarHall undergoes one of its most significant transformations in 2026, with an extended schedule that runs deep into the night, plus an entirely redesigned space that can switch fluidly between concert hall and club space, eliminating the need for pauses between performances.

Live acts remain at the heart of the SonarHall programme in 2026. Daniel Avery’s latest album expanded his sound beyond the club: his full band show brings to mind late 90s and early 2000s alt rock. Explosive dance punk slash noise rock group YHWH Nailgun and avant-garde club tricksters Two Shell – who are teasing a new album ‘Infinite Now’ – should be amongst the most uncompromising shows of Sónar 2026.

For his new show R2, acid techno titan Reinier Zonneveld has trained an AI using his own music: at Sónar 2026 they’ll perform live together, with the AI appearing in holographic form on stage with him. This is the first activity announced for AI & Music powered by S+T+ARTS 2026: the rest of the programme will be revealed soon.

Catalan artists Ani in the Hall and Mercè will both debut new shows, inspired respectively by folklore and videogames. Swedish singer-songwriter Namasenda – recently signed to Yung Lean’s YEAR0001 – crafts pop that’s futuristic and deeply personal. And electronic jazz musicians Jameszoo – known for his releases on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder imprint – and Niels Bro appear together as ROLROLROL, fresh off a surprising release on cult label Ilian Tape.

They join a historic Sónar debut from cult industrial and electronic group Cabaret Voltaire, with founding members Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson reuniting to mark the 50th anniversary of their first‑ever performance. Also announced in November was a new AV show from Catalan IDM and experimental techno artist 30drop, based on his releases for Jeff Mill’s Axis Records and created in collaboration with visual artist Santiago

Between these acts, there’ll be a series of sessions that place the performer in the centre of the room. French synthwave and post-punk connoisseur The Hacker will warm up for Cabaret Voltaire, one of his favourite ever bands, before one of Barcelona’s most understated and talented selectors, Oriana, handles the aftershow party. Japanese artist GOTH-TRAD welds dubstep to industrial and noise; his compatriot Takuya Nakamura augments his sets of broken beat and drum’n’bass with live trumpet and pads. Spanish producer Beatrix Weapons live set bridges rave nostalgia and deconstructed trance, and Sónia Trópicos brings the warm breeze of Lisbon label Enchufada to Sónar 2026.

On Friday and Saturday night from 1am, SonarHall transforms into a club, with a pair of special takeovers. On Friday, Bogotá’s BULTO, one of Latin America’s leading queer fetish nights, have curated a lineup featuring versatile Brazilian-Paraguyan artist – and graduate of São Paolo’s infamous Mamba Negra parties – Amanda Mussi, as well as residents Nina GGG and JESUZ X, who’ll go back-to-back with Brooklyn-based Spaniard NE/RE/A. On Saturday, Defected Records’ legendary Glitterbox party, who’ve brought hedonistic house and disco to Ibiza every summer since 2015, take command: the lineup will be released very soon.

SonarPark: Global club culture

SonarPark heads outdoors this year, with an extended all-night long schedule and a bigger dancefloor. The programming follows the same line as recent years, reflecting club culture’s ongoing waves of deconstruction and reconstruction: mutations of dance music driven by interconnected, hyperlocal scenes and trends.

The influence of Latin America continues to shape contemporary club culture, which is why today’s additions include Colombian artist PETERBLUE, whose mix of rapid techno and latin rhythms has made him one of the stars of post-pandemic dance music. There’s a European debut live set from ‘slut techno’ – her words – pioneer Miss Bashful, and Argentinian superproducer TAYHANA returns to Sónar with compatriot MissLupe for a set of contrasting styles. Live From Earth’s Perra Inmunda combines Berlin’s libertine aesthetic with Colombian heritage, while Venezuela’s Tedesco is leading a global wave of latincore – dark, fast techno mixed with hard-hitting bass and breaks. From Spain, Madrid’s Fukcnormal and Zaragoza’s Mecromina Club – residents Fresquito, Mango and Edu Lindo – explore club anarchy and reggaéton.

That’s on top of an already announced all-Brazilian pairing of Clementaum b2b LAZA, plus Barcelona-via-Buenos Aires partystarter La Sofy

Spain’s trap and modern r&b artists can lay claim to being the most creative and innovative in the world right now. No-one epitomises this better than Metrika, who uses her provocative persona and direct lyrics to address modern sexuality, female empowerment and mental health. She’s at the head of a new wave of vocalists that include Barcelona’s own GlorySixVain and Alicante’s Main Costa. Barcelona collective Cutemobb have been at the centre of the city’s hip-hop culture in recent years, blending rap, trap, r&b and afrobeats. Their showcase will feature a host of MCs, including founding member LEÏTI. And Catalan artist TAWA explores her own identity over genre-defying production inspired by baile funk, rage rap, and witch house.

Former trap producer Baby Pantera’s forthcoming album Desidia, featuring collaborators Nick León and Mssingno, sees him break away from his roots and embrace contemporary trance: Sónar 2026 will be one of the first stops on his tour. South Korean duo DPR Cream & DPR ARCTIC, members of K-pop supergroup DPR, exist in a world of their own. Their collaborative project spans r&b and hip-hop, with clear influences from UK bass music. Ciara Cuvé – the psytrance alter ego of Ibiza based superstar Clara Cuvé – and Madrid artist Migal, fresh off providing the music for the Sónar 2026 campaign, round out the DJ lineup.

They all join previously announced DJ sets from eternally youthful German artist Boyz Noize, queer icon DJ AYA, French-Malaysian bass specialist RONI, and trance-techno DJ Alba Franch

SonarLab: Bridging contemporary and classic club culture

SonarLab evolves again this year, with a redesigned dancefloor and lighting setup that reflects the stage’s artistic programming: dance music that takes cues from underground rave culture, the pioneers of house and techno and the UK hardcore continuum, but that remains unafraid to look to the future. More details are coming soon, but this will be the most intense and immersive version of SonarLab yet.

Friday is dedicated to UK inspired club music, from jungle to bass music. Representing legendary label Metalheadz, Goldie b2b Doc Scott ft Medic MC brings the pure energy of classic drum’n’bass to Sónar this year. They join the artist leading the next generation of jungle, Nia Archives, who was announced in November. The lineup is reinforced by new additions Amaliah b2b Pangaea and Addison Groove, DJs who explore the full spectrum of UK club music from soundsystem techno to post-dubstep mutations, jungle, UK hardcore and footwork; and a hybrid set by ⌭ IceMorph ⌬. Heading online collective CloudCore, this mysterious duo brings the internet’s most unconventional club music onto the dancefloor. Finally, Madrid DJ Olivia Babe’s esoteric mix of everything from amapiano and baile funk to dembow and Jersey club echoes already-announced London-via-Tokyo sensation – and SonarMix authorriria. Saturday’s lineup showcases artists reshaping modern house and techno. Headlining the new additions is a hardware-driven live collaborative session between German ravers FJAAK and electroclash pioneer Kittin; plus DJ sets from Georgian acid and electro expert SALOME – resident at legendary Berlin party Herrensauna – and raw techno purist Akua. Japanese mastermind Wata Igarashi returns to Sónar for another mind-bending live session of deep, detailed techno. He joins Japan’s next great techno artist, DJ MARIA., who was announced in November along with SonarMix contributor ISA and two of dance music’s most elegant selectors, Daniela b2b Ryan Elliot.

A simplified, more accessible ticket offering

Sónar opens its doors to everyone and, this year more than ever, introduces a redesigned and simplified ticket structure with more competitive pricing – particularly for the opening Thursday, which features an expanded music programme – alongside special discounts for younger audiences through the Carné Joven and the Bono Cultural Joven schemes.

A range of VIP tickets are also available, offering access to exclusive benefits and dedicated VIP areas that are currently being fully redesigned and upgraded. The main VIP area, conceived as a central meeting point for VIP audiences, will feature exclusive food and drink options, as well as VIP-only bars and restrooms. In addition, each stage will offer its own bespoke VIP experience, tailored to the specific nature of the performances taking place there. All ticket types for Sónar 2026 are now on sale at sonar.es

Sónar Week: music, innovation, creativity, technology and family, throughout the city

Sónar’s ongoing commitment to Barcelona – transforming the city year after year into a global capital of music, innovation, creativity and technology – expands further in 2026 with the launch of Sónar District at Parc del Fòrum, extending the activities of Sónar Week across the city from end to end.

One of the standout announcements for 2026 is the return of Sónar Kids, Sónar’s parallel programme designed to experience music and creativity as a family. Sharing the festival’s exploratory and innovative spirit, Sónar Kids invites both artists and audiences to co-create an experience that reimagines and expands the possibilities of children’s and family leisure. Taking place throughout Saturday 20 June, the event will bring families together in a safe, child-friendly environment specifically adapted for younger audiences.

The programme will feature activities aimed at awakening and stimulating children’s creativity, offering their first encounters with creative practices and live music, and allowing them to learn through hands-on experimentation with sound while discovering art in entirely new ways. As with Sónar+D on Thursday and Friday, Sónar Kids is also designed so that adult audiences can combine the daytime programme with Sónar’s evening music offerings at Fira Gran Via.

Sónar District will further expand the musical programme of Sónar Week by hosting three of the most influential parties and labels in today’s electronic music scene: Solid Grooves on Friday 19 June, and Metamorfosi by Joseph Capriati alongside You&Me by Josh Baker on Saturday 20 June. Tickets for each of these events are available here.

As always, the musical offering of Sónar Week will be completed by OFFSónar, which will once again bring key parties and labels from the global electronic music landscape to the three venues of Poble Espanyol. The programme includes events from Rampa & Adam Port (two of the three members of the Keinemusik phenomenon) and X by Adriatique, through Baddest Behaviour by Mau P, Lone Romantic by Maceo Plex, Fuse London and Mochakk Calling, culminating with elrow on Sunday 21 June. All tickets are on sale at offsonar.co, with the exception of Rampa & Adam Port and Fuse London, which are already sold out.

In addition to this extensive music programme, Sónar+D will once again take place on Thursday and Friday, moving in 2026 to a new venue at Llotja de Mar, with full details to be announced soon. Located in the heart of Barcelona, Sónar+D will serve as a central hub and connective thread between Sónar’s programme at Fira Gran Via, OFFSónar at Poble Espanyol and Sónar District at Parc del Fòrum – extending Sónar Week across the city from one end to the other.
