The 21st edition of Nozstock The Hidden Valley will now be postponed and take place between the 21st and 24th July 2022.
This has been an incredibly difficult and challenging period for the Nosworthy family and everyone involved at the festival, and words can’t even begin to explain how they feel about having to postpone again. This is the 2nd year running that the ongoing effects of the pandemic and also the lack of government-backed insurance has made it untenable for the festival to take place this summer.
Ella Nosworthy says: “All of the team have been working tirelessly to figure out ways to deliver a safe and secure event this July, which lives up to the expectations of previous marvellous years. One issue is that despite calls from the industry, COVID cancellation insurance has not yet been implemented and now our time has run out in waiting for news. And there are also major issues for the festival supply chain too which makes it impossible to provide the quality of event our audience has come to expect. Economically, the festival cannot keep pushing on, especially with production costs rising every day and recent reports of increased cases and a possible delay to the roadmap. In going ahead, the financial risk could affect Nozstock’s future and we simply cannot take that risk. We are all devastated. The support from loyal Nozstockers combined with selling out so quickly gave some hope for this year which makes this postponement even harder.”
It has been the hardest decision for the family to make which they have agonised over. Now they will be working hard over the coming weeks to rollover as much of their amazing lineup as possible with Andy C, Bill Bailey, Submotion Orchestra, Calyx and Teebee, Break and Utah Saints already confirmed for Jul 2022.
Ella adds: “We want to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you for your ongoing support and understanding – Nozstock would not be here without you. We will be back, just sadly not this summer with what everyone knows us for.”
The family are also asking if Nozstockers can rollover their tickets to 2022 which will help to support the festival until next summer. Full details here!
In the meantime, there is a bit of positive news. Nozstock are committed to bringing some form of Nozstock back this summer in the form of smaller, one day events which can be socially distanced if guidance requires. More details about these events will be released in the coming weeks.
For most of the year Rowden Paddocks is a fully working farm, complete with cows, sheep and chickens. Yet every summer since 2008, a rather brilliant and barmy family-friendly festival has also grown in Herefordshire; from first a handful of friends and family getting together for an intimate party, evolving over the years into a marvellously magical weekend of escapism set across the idyllic rolling hills with headline acts from around the world dropping in.
Many of last year’s booked artists are all back for this summer. In the eclectic style which defines the festival, it’s a brilliantly diverse range of performers across the site’s 10 stages, including Sister Sledge, Bill Bailey, Andy C ft. Tonn Piper, Calyx and Teebee w/ LX One, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Submotion Orchestra, Ibibio Sound Machine, Dirty Dike, Flava D, Mungo’s HI FI ft. Gardna, Stanton Warriors, Break, Culture Shock, Kanine, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, 24hr Garage Girls, Nicky Blackmarket, Tankus The Henge, Randall, The Destroyers and hundreds more.
Ella says: „We are astonished that we are so close to selling out. Since the road map news, we have seen a huge spike in demand like many other events, and we are now planning to have the festival as we intended last year – in its full Nozstock glory. We understand however that things are by no means certain. We are committed to going ahead, but only if it’s safe to do so. We will remain cautiously optimistic, keep watching how the situation unfolds and keep every finger and toe crossed that we have the summer we have all been waiting for. We can’t wait to welcome people back to the fields. The headliners and many of the artists and performers we had booked last year are all coming back which is great and we are working closely with the relevant bodies to ensure things are COVID secure.“
