Festival expands with the Sitges America Tour and other initiatives
The internationalization of the Sitges brand is one of the Festival’s goals for upcoming years!

Sitges’ growth abroad is focused on two main lines. On the one hand, through genre film series organized at other festivals, like the Sitges Reloaded category, which recently premiered at the Udine Far East Film Festival (Italy), or the Sessions Sitges (Sitges Screenings) at the Maremostra in Palma (Majorca), programed for the third year running this year. And on the other, through actions to directly export the name of Sitges, as in the case of the fabulous Sitges America Tour, announced last week in Cannes and that will be premiering this upcoming October with a lineup of five different Sitges brand films screened at different North American theaters and that represents the Festival’s first challenge to broaden the horizons of its brand in the United States and Canada

Cinergía is looking for a short film director for its second edition
Once again this year, Sitges will be one of the festivals presenting the premieres of short films from the Cinergía project, by Gas Natural Fenosa. The short film must be a comedy based on energy efficiency, and have a runtime of less than 10 minutes. The deadline for sending projects is June 28th and all participants will also be included in a raffle to win a subscription to Filmin. Read more

The Sitges Festival acknowledges and stimulates talent with the Sitges Cine365 Film Award
Sitges has become the first film festival in the world to give an award consisting of an economic contribution to produce a feature length film. The initiative –christened as the Sitges Cine365 Film Award– is the result of an agreement between the Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, the Apaches Entertainment production company and the Cine365 website, and it is the second time it is put in place. Short films can be presented until 31 July, which is the deadline. They must be unreleased and produced in Spain as of 2014. The maximum runtime of each piece is 30 minutes. Read more

A new call for the Sitges Carnet Jove Jury kicks off
The Catalonian Generalitat’s Catalan Youth Agency and the Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia have opened the period to send in applications to be a part of the eleventh Carnet Jove Jury. The deadline is July 1st. Read more
